Skoda Superb interior

Skoda has revealed the interior of its next-generation Superb, which will launch in November.

Teaser images of the car's exterior were released earlier this year.

The new Superb's interior is equipped with a digital cockpit, a head-up display and a 12.9-inch free-standing infotainment display. The DSG gear selector has been moved to the steering column, to provide front passengers with more space, while a larger centre console offers more storage.

New customisable Skoda Smart Dials allow for easy control of the car's key functions. Each rotary push-button provides intuitive access to various vehicle functions, and a digital display ensures a quick, comprehensive overview at any time.

The new model will be closely related to the new VW Passat as Skoda has overseen the developement of both cars.

A suite of new powertrains will be available, with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid options offered alongside a new hybrid.

The plug-in hybrid Superb will have a larger zero-emission range than its predecessor, managing 62 miles from a single charge. Available in estate body only, the plug-in hybrid uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine and has a maximum power output of 204PS. The 25.7kWh battery supports 11kW AC charging and 50kW DC charging.

There will also be a 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol, with 150PS, a 2.0-litre petrol with 204PS and a range topping all-wheel-drive 265PS petrol. The diesel line-up consists of a front-wheel-drive 150PS variant and a 193PS all-wheel-drive variant. CO2 emission figures are yet to be published.

Skoda says the new Superb will be larger and better to drive than the current model. Headroom has grown considerably for all passengers and the luggage compartment holds 645 litres in the hatchback and 690 litres in the estate version.

Up to 28 Simply Clever details increase driver and passenger comfort in the new-generation Superb. Some of them are completely new to Skoda overall: a unique electrically controlled roller blind acting as a luggage compartment cover in the Superb estate, a centre armrest for the rear seats with integrated tablet holder and a double storage pocket on the back of each front seat to hold documents or magazines as well as a smartphone.
