Graham Palin has been appointed as the new head of central operations at Autoglass.

He will lead all centrally managed operational teams at the vehicle glass repair and replacement specialist, including its three service delivery centres and network of district support teams.

He will drive initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of internal systems and processes with the aim of optimising the performance and productivity of technicians and technical and product support teams, improving customer appointment scheduling, and ultimately further advancing time to serve for customers of Autoglass.

Palin will also play a key role in the operational delivery of the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technical solution at Autoglass.

ADAS systems, one of the fastest growing segments in automotive electronics, support drivers with advanced safety features linked to sensors or cameras which can be mounted on windscreens and/or other vehicle glass.

Following a windscreen replacement, some ADAS systems need to be recalibrated to ensure they are functioning correctly.

Autoglass is soon to launch a national solution for ADAS calibration for both dynamic and static calibration. More than 120 mobile technicians have already been trained and equipped and a pilot is well underway.

Palin brings over thirty years of experience to Autoglass after progressing through key operational and commercial roles within the automotive industry.

Over the last five years he served as head of AA Autowindshields and was responsible for the integration of a mobile vehicle glass repair and replacement operation.

He said: “The use of technology in vehicle glass is growing exponentially and Autoglass is certainly leading the field, making this an exciting time to be joining the business.

“Autoglass invests a great deal in both the technical and operational aspects of the business and my task is ensure that we maximise that investment so our partners, insurers and customers all experience the highest quality of service.  There’s a great culture within Autoglass that’s both people and customer focused.

“I’m really looking forward to applying my industry experience to this new challenge.”

Taxiarchis Konstantopoulos, managing director of Autoglass, said: “Graham’s exceptionally strong operational automotive industry background and experience within a mobile vehicle glass repair and replacement operation will be an invaluable asset to us.

“Over the years he has become skilled at leading transformation programmes and successfully implementing efficiency improvements both of which are vital as the automotive industry evolves faster than ever before.

“I’m confident that Graham’s expertise will complement our overarching goal to deliver an outstanding customer experience to all that place their trust in us.”
