Ryder announces appointment of Simon Ranner as UK Operations Director

Ryder has appointed Simon Ranner as UK operations director. In this new position, Ranner will be responsible for Ryder’s UK network of 29 locations as well as its engineering and Fleetcare operations.

With more than 30 years of experience in commercial transport and logistics. Ranner has held senior roles in organisations including Theo Paphitis Retail Group, Unipart Logistics, Tesco, Punch Taverns and Scottish & Newcastle.

Ranner said: “In my new role, my focus will be on further leveraging the strengths of the Ryder organisation, and bringing forward best practice from across transport, logistics and other leading industries.”

David Hunt, vice president and managing director of Ryder Europe, said:  “We are focused on continuing growth and Ranner’s experience over the past 30 years in transportation and logistics will add strength to the UK Management team. Simon’s knowledge and experience in heading up transportation and logistics operations for a range of major high street organisations will complement our focus on supporting growing customer fleets.”
