Vehicle Quality Solutions (VQS) has appointed Peter Freestone as its new operations manager.

Reporting into operations director, Steve Weston, Freestone will manage all 50 of VQS’s inspectors, who are either permanently based at de-fleet centres, or operate remotely across the country.

Bringing nearly 20 years’ experience to the role, Freestone will also manage VQS's IMI-approved vehicle inspection training programme at Bruntingthorpe and the subsequent recruitment of field-based inspectors into the VQS network.

VQS carries out 250,000 inspections each year for rental and leasing companies, dealer groups and manufacturers, including recently-renewed contracts with FCA Group and Network Q.

Developed in-house, VQS’s tablet-based vehicle inspection technology provides full transparency of a vehicle’s condition at the end of a contract, generating repair estimates and charges in real-time.

Simon Jackson, managing director of VQS, said: “We’re delighted to be able to welcome Peter into the team. His wide-ranging vehicle inspection and management experience, particularly in the OEM sector, will undoubtedly help VQS’s growth in this area."
