Europcar Mobility Group has announced the appointment of Matthew Rodgers as UK HR Director, taking over from Sally Gregory who retired in October.

Rodgers (pictured) joined Europcar as a graduate trainee in 1996, moving up to branch manager the following year.

In 1999 Matthew was appointed to internal communications before becoming parting of the HR team. In 2005 he became human resources development manager.

“Having been renamed Europcar Mobility Group earlier this year, our business is at an exciting stage in its evolution,” said Rodgers.

“Our growth strategy has been specifically focused on building solutions to suit all types of mobility needs, both through internal development and through acquisition.

"And that means the shape of the business – and the career opportunities for our employees – are constantly evolving.”

He was appointed head of HR services in 2014, with responsibility for HR, learning and development, payroll and internal communications.  And as part of Gregory’s succession planning strategy, he worked closely with her and the UK management team to develop the scope of personal development and career opportunities available to employees.

Rodgers said: “It’s a tremendously exciting time and I am looking forward to working alongside the UK management team to support Europcar Mobility Group’s continued success and growth.

"Part of my aim is to continue to focus on helping every person realise their full potential and maximise engagement to build the business.”

Europcar Mobility Group in the UK’s managing director Gary Smith said: “Matthew has a deep understanding of our brands and is an exceptional leader, who will bring a clear vision to his new role.

"His expertise will be fundamental in ensuring we continue to attract and retain the best talent, as part of our overall growth strategy.”
