InAutomotive has revealed that the top 10 areas for growth year-on-year in the automotive industry.

The automotive job board looked at both the number of jobs advertised in each job category and the number of candidates who’ve signed up last year, and indicated their interest in a category.

The charts highlight that sign-ups for supply chain roles increased by 123.08% in 2018, a significant increase from 2017. This was much less than the demand for the role - jobs advertised for Supply Chain roles increased by 388.89% in 2018.

Sign-ups for technician roles also increased by 76.92%, whereas jobs advertised for technicians grew by 90.63%.

Sign-ups for jobs in dealerships increased by 26.04%, while jobs advertised increased by 20.83%

Ian Partington, CEO of InAutomotive, said: “We saw a demand for jobseekers increase more than the number of new jobseekers on the market in 2018. This highlights the fact that the market is currently candidate-driven.

“Our approach moving in to 2019 of investing in a candidate-driven team will help engage both active and passive jobseekers in the automotive sector to meet this rising demand.”
