TrustFord announces changes to senior leadership team

TrustFord has announced changes to its senior leadership team, including the appointment of a new chief executive officer (CEO).

Stuart Mustoe, who is currently finance director and acting chairman and CEO since the retirement of the late Stuart Foulds in February 2022, has been appointed as CEO.

Mustoe joined Ford Retail as a trainee accountant in 1997 where he progressed into the role of accountant for the Truck Division & Uxbridge, a position he held from 1999-2003.

Jon Williams will move into the role of chairman as part of the changes, which also sees Shaun Glanville join the business as chief financial officer (CFO).

Glanville joins TrustFord from Ford Motor Company, where he has worked in several finance roles over a career spanning 35 years.

These roles include time in Spain as finance director and then as plant controller in Valencia, head of internal audit for Ford of Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa, and as finance director at Ford of Britain. His most recent role was as controller profits and operations at Ford of Europe.

Glanvillle has been a non-executive director on the TrustFord board for the past three years.

New non-executive director appointed at National Highways

Simon Blanchflower has been appointed as a non-executive director on the board of National Highways.

National Highways said Blanchflower brings leadership experience from a career within the rail sector. He recently retired from his role as CEO of the East West Railway Company (EWR) in March 2022, having established the company.

Prior to joining EWR, Blanchflower had a career leading the development and delivery of rail infrastructure projects including being the major programme director on the Thameslink Programme.

He is currently deputy chair of the London Legacy Development Corporation, which is responsible for securing the legacy from the London 2012 Olympics, and chairs its health, safety and security and investment committees.

Blanchflower also sits on the board of the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation and the Global Centre of Rail Excellence.

He was appointed CBE in 2019 for services to the railway industry and is a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Nick Williams appointed CEO of AX

Nick Williams has been appointed CEO of AX, stepping into the role following a period as deputy CEO.

Williams succeeds Lucy Woods, who led AX for six years and now transitions to non-executive director and will lead AX having held several senior leadership roles during his three years with the business.

Prior to his appointment as deputy CEO in 2022, Williams was strategy director and subsequently projects and propositions director.

He has more than 25 years of operational and industry experience including six years with the RAC, leading its motor claim businesses, and associated connected car development.

Changes to the AX leadership team also include the appointment of Nikki Roy to the role of CFO. With 19 years of experience at AX, the company said Roy has the knowledge to support the business as it executes its objectives and plans for growth in 2023.

Commenting on his appointment, Williams said: “I would like to thank Lucy Woods for everything she has done for AX, and for the knowledge and guidance she has given to me personally. Elsewhere in the senior leadership team, I am delighted that Nikki has agreed to step into the role of CFO where her expertise is vital in supporting our collective plans for the business.

“As we move into a new chapter with an emphasis on teamwork, enthusiasm, and a determination to achieve our shared goals, we will continue to propel AX forwards with a clear focus on customer service and innovation.”

XL Global Group makes new appointments

XL Global Group has made two appointments to help bolster its integrated engineering support services in the UK.

Derren Reid joins XL Global Group having achieved success in his previous roles, supporting both product sales and infrastructure projects within several of the group’s current market sectors.

The company said Reid’s project management skills are aligned to support the group’s activities with clients including, including Starline - a division of the global industrial group Legrand.

Mark Chatwin also joining the commercial team, brings several years key account handling and consultative sales experience to the role.

The company said his appointment primarily enables the company to further develop its specialist fluid measurement and transfer applications through partnerships with Liquip and Technip FMC, whilst developing awareness of the wider scope of products and services available to clients throughout XL Global Group.

Nexus Vehicle Rental appoints new chief technology officer

Nexus Vehicle Rental has appointed Ian Baxter as chief technology officer to help accelerate business growth plans and further develop its strategic vision.

Baxter joins Nexus from Avnet and Farnell, where he spearheaded the biggest digital transformation in the company’s history.

In this role, Nexus says he transformed the culture, systems and operating model to completely restructure the 100-plus people technology and product teams into a more agile organisation, modernised the technology stack and delivered record online sales performance that positioned the business as leaders within the industry.
