Stellantis has extended the warranty for its 1.5-litre BlueHDI diesel engine, to address issues related to the timing chain.

Under this enhanced policy, Stellantis will cover 100% of parts and labor costs for up to 10 years or 150,000 miles, subject to specific conditions.

The extended warranty applies to engines produced between October 2017 and January 2023.

In addition, customers who have previously experienced camshaft chain issues may request from mid-July on reimbursement for related expenses.

To be eligible to the special coverage, maintenance should have been performed by any automotive professional according to the manufacturer’s recommendation. In case of issue, diagnosis and repair must be performed with the authorised network.

Models that could be impacted include:

  • Peugeot: 208, 2008, 308, 3008, 5008, Partner vans
  • Citroen: C3, C3 Aircross, C4 Cactus, C5 Aircross, Berlingo and Dispatch vans
  • Vauxhall: Astra, Grandland, Crossland, Combo and Vivaro vans
  • DS Automobiles: DS 3 Crossback, DS 4, DS 7 Crossback
  • Fiat Professional: Scudo, Ulysse and some Doblo vans in later production years

A dedicated online compensation platform is available at https://stellantis-support.com.

The action follows a compensation scheme that was launched to support customers who faced repair bills caused by timing belt issues on certain Stellantis petrol engines, earlier this year.
