Axis Fleet Management has appointed Martyn Allen to expand its mobile maintenance division.

Allen, who has 35 years’ experience in the industry, will lead the roll-out of new services aimed at enhancing the company’s nationwide on-site trailer maintenance and repair offering.

Axis launched its mobile maintenance division last year and has invested in five engineers and vehicles to service customers across England.

As part of the division’s growth strategy, Allen has a lead role in developing new services to provide on-site maintenance tail lifts and refrigerator trailers which will be introduced later this month.

The division will also introduce on-site servicing of its hired tractor units using the latest DVSA-approved electronic Tapley meter brake test machines.

Allen is targeting UK-wide expansion for the division whose main customer base is currently concentrated in the south east, Midlands, East Anglia, Yorkshire and north west.

Leigh Goodland, managing director of Axis, said: “Martyn is a highly experienced and commercially focused operator with a wealth of knowledge of the UK trucks sector.

“He comes to Axis with an ideal background, working for some of the industry’s leading brands.

“He also has experience running his own business which will be invaluable in leading the mobile maintenance unit growth strategy as we roll out new services to help reduce trailer downtime for customers throughout the UK.”
