Mick Glover has taken on the newly created role of used remarketing manager at Mercedes-Benz Vans.
The manufacturer previously remarketed used vans via Mercedes-Benz Used Commercial Vehicles (vans and trucks) at the Mercedes-Benz facility based at Wentworth Park, near Barnsley but Mercedes-Benz Vans is now fully responsible for this function.
Glover will manage the used van remarketing function, which will cover wholesale and retail sales, sales administration, defleet and logistics, dealer targeting and RV portfolio management.
He will be implementing and controlling processes for used vans ensuring high stock turn, tight financial controls, maximising sales values while also ensuring the department delivers excellent customer service to the dealer network.
He said: “The used van market in the UK is around three times bigger than the new van market so there is a fantastic opportunity now to maximise our strength in this area.
“The right vehicle for a customer may well be a used one, and we are committed to helping people find the right vehicle for their needs, whether that is new or used; we can supply the right vehicle for their budget.”
Having worked in the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle business for 20 years, Glover has worked closely with the dealer network to serve both retail and fleet customers. His most recent role was as head of service quality for Mercedes-Benz Vans.
Steve Bridge, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Vans, added: “We are delighted to have Mick in this crucial new role, as he brings with him two decades of outstanding experience and knowledge. The future for Mercedes-Benz Vans in the Used vehicle arena is very promising, and I look forward to sharing the brand’s success.”
