City Auction Group will hold its ‘first’ Rockingham-based LCV auction on April 24, with more than 100 vans currently allocated.

With the lowest mileage at 3,000, the vans are aged between six months to five years and will feature Volkswagen Caddys; Vauxhall Vivaros; Citroen Nemos; Citroen Berlingos; Citroen Dispatchs; Citroen Relays; Peugeot Partners; Peugeot Experts; Peugeot Boxers; Mercedes Sprinters; Fiat Ducatos; Ford Transits; Ford Transit Connects; and Vauxhall Movanos, with more arriving.

The vehicles are direct from leasing and finance companies with extensive service history and maintenance records. They will all be sold with condition reports and mechanical inspections so buyers can purchase with confidence.

City Auction Group’s department head of LCV, plant, machinery and asset management, Paul Cooke, said: “We are very excited to be launching our first LCV auction at Rockingham, which will offer a great choice of LCVs.

“Currently, there is a very high demand for used LCVs in the market, so it’s great to be able to offer such an extensive variety to meet our customers’ requirements.

“Recent figures from the SMMT show that 14,135 LCVs were registered in February 2018, 844 more than in the previous year. These figures represent the market’s best February performance in a decade. Vans weighing 2.0 to 2.5 tonnes and pick-ups experienced larger increases, with demand rising by 19.9% and 14.2% respectively.

“Demand also grew for vans weighing 2.5 to 3.5 tonnes, the biggest market segment by volume, up by 2.5%."

City Auction Group’s managing director, Michael Tomalin, said: “We now have specialists managing the LCV section of our weekly sale programme, supported by Groupe CAT UK supplying all defleet and external operations for both the motor vehicle and LCV requirements.

"We have expectations to develop this by expanding volumes in both sectors, operating a weekly event, every Tuesday at 10am for corporate fleet vehicle, followed by LCV at 12 noon.”
