But when practicality is the primary concern - the Astra 1.7 DTi ECO4 takes the honours. It's got all the usual Astra attributes, with affordable front end pricing, solid residual values and Vauxhall's ultra economical and clean ECO4 low pressure turbodiesel engine returning the sort of fuel consumption that makes accountants smile.
