Fresh focus on commercial brokers at Raphaels Bank with appointment of Ashley Davies

Raphaels Bank, an independent bank with a strong pedigree in motor and commercial asset-based finance, has appointed Ashley Davies to head up its growing Asset Finance Division.

Davies becomes business development manager, with more than 35 years’ experience working within the UK finance industry.

Previous appointments include six years with ING Lease (UK) and sales management positions with four other ‘blue chip’ companies operating in the business and motor finance sector.

As business development manager, Davies will work closely with a network of commercial finance brokers across the UK to support their business growth, through flexible lending solutions for various hard assets including cars, commercial vehicles, plant, equipment and machinery.

Raphaels aims to be competitive in the commercial asset based lending market by providing a personalised assessment of a business’s individual needs, and a flexible, high-quality sales orientated service.

Carl Virgo, head of lending at Raphaels Bank, said: “Commercial brokers contribute to the core of our business and Ashley will ensure we maintain our focus on delivering competitive, quality and speedy finance solutions to their SME customers.

“An industry professional, with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record in sales, risk assessment & new business operation, he is a valuable addition to our team.

“He will be a key figure in further building Raphaels Bank’s reputation in the commercial lending arena, complementing our strong market position already seen in motor finance.”
