Kia’s new EV5 fully-electric C-SUV will have a range of around 329 miles when it goes on sale later this year.
The new model, which forms part of the manufacturer's global ‘Plan S’ electrification roadmap, will join the EV3, EV4, EV6 and EV9 in the brand’s growing ‘EV’ series of cars.
These models which helped the manufacturer win four awards at this year’s Fleet News Awards, including Zero Emission Manufacturer of the Year.

Pricing information will follow in due course, but the manufacturer has confirmed the EV5 will feature an 81.4kWh battery, and will offer up to 329 miles on a single charge.
All EV5 variants support fast charging, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes from a 150kW DC rapid charger. It can charge at up to 11kW from an AC charger.
Its motor produces 218PS, giving the car a 0-62mph acceleration time of 8.4 seconds.
Engineered on Kia’s E-GMP architecture, which is also used in cars like the EV3, EV4 and EV6, the rear seats fold completely flat, maximising boot space and creating a loading area of up to two metres in length.
It has a boot capacity of 566 litres with the rear seats in place, as well as a 44-litre frunk under the bonnet.
Comfort-focused seats include massage functions for the driver, four-way lumbar support, heating and ventilation.
Interior materials include recycles PET in the seats and carpets, bio foam in the seats, centre console and headrests, and BTX-free paint on the doors, dashboard and centre console.
The EV5 offers an i-Pedal 3.0 system for one-pedal driving, while the Smart Regeneration System Plus system enhances energy efficiency and ride comfort, using navigation data to automatically adjust braking and speed ahead of junctions, speed limit changes etc.
A next-generation battery heating and cooling function increases the efficiency of cabin heating, preserving the all-electric range in cold conditions.
EV5 also offers bi-directional charging, including vehicle-to-load (V2L) offering up to 3.6kW of power. The model is also equipped with vehicle-to-grid (V2G) hardware.
The EV5 features Kia’s latest ccNC (connected car Navigation Cockpit) system, which includes a panoramic wide display combining a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 5.3-inch climate control display.
The SUV also includes a three-zone climate control system, Digital Key 2.0, fingerprint recognition and Harman Kardon Premium Audi.
The EV5 features seven airbags and the latest suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Safety technologies include Parking Collision-avoidance Assist – Rear has been expanded to include the front and side as well, using sensors and cameras to help prevent collisions in the front, side, and rear while parking.
