Automotive Leasing, part of LeasePlan, has won a three-year NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) vehicle supply tender.

Automotive Leasing has been a key supplier to NHSBT since 1997, and currently provides over 200 vehicles to the Special Health Authority.

In particular, Automotive Leasing provides rapid response vehicles that safely transport blood and blood products to their recipients, alongside a small number of cars. The vehicles provide rapid response, and are fitted with cooling systems for vital components, such as the tissue and stem cell samples.

As part of this new agreement with NHSBT, Automotive Leasing has also secured an additional order for 60 commercial vehicles including Transit and Connect vans as well as specialist refrigerated vehicles to keep blood and other blood products viable for transfusion.

Tim Meadows, brand director Automotive Leasing, said: “I am delighted that we have won the contract to supply NHSBT for another three years.

“Automotive Leasing has worked with NHS Blood & Transplant for almost twenty years, and we are proud to work with such an important service that is so dedicated to saving and improving lives in the UK.

“This relationship has been successful mainly due to Automotive Leasing’s commitment to delivering value for money, alongside our rapid response service and commercial vehicle expertise.

“We are really excited to build upon this relationship, and to further support this vital service with the inclusion of Donor Cards in all new vehicles delivered across our UK fleet.”
