Manchester-based Nationwide Vehicle Contracts was named the largest leasing broker by fleet size at the launch of the Leasing Broker Federation (LBF) top 30.

The LBF top 30 claims to be the definitive list of leasing brokers by size, and Nationwide Vehicle Contracts took the number one slot with a fleet size of 37,523 vehicles on contract in 2016.

This would place Nationwide Vehicle Contracts at number 12 in the annual Fleet News FN50 listing of top leasing companies, although unlike contract hire companies, leasing brokers do not have assets on risk.

Nationwide Vehicle Contracts’ non-executive director Keith Hawes: "We would like to thank our funders, manufacturer suppliers and of course our staff for enabling us to achieve this position.

“Our vehicle parc continues to grow significantly and we hope to stay on top in 2018. Initiatives such as the Leasing Broker Federation’s LBF T30 help to raise the profile of brokers in the industry.”

Leasing brokers are responsible for thousands of cars and vans put onto lease each month. According to the latest industry figures, leasing brokers had 261,653 live contracts at the end of 2017*.

Leasing Broker News’ editor Ralph Morton said:“The LBF T30 provides a clear indication of the market influence of Leasing Broker Federation members with the majority showing growth year on year.

“I’m grateful to each and every one of the brokers who participated in this initial running of the LBF T30. In particular, praise must go to those new start up brokerages brave enough to enter a zero.

"They have understood the importance of charting their growth trajectory in the future.”

Nationwide Vehicle Contracts’ director Dave Johnson picked up the award to recognise the company’s number one status at the Federation’s annual dinner and awards evening, held at RSA House, London, on November 23.
