The Road Safety Act is the comprehensive rules to which every driver must adhere.

This extensive legislation makes provision about road traffic, registration plates, vehicle and driver information, hackney carriages and private hire vehicles, and trunk road picnic areas.

Specifically it provides the rules over driver endorsements and licence requirements, offences such as speeding and causing death by dangerous driving, and training. It even explains how the money from road safety cameras is used.
