Responsible for the compliant and efficient management of the Depot transport operation and the improvement of driver standards. Ensuring full compliance for vehicles and drivers whilst meeting agreed targets.

Description
The key responsibilities for the successful Depot Transport Manager will include:
Ensuring the safety of our Driving team when inside the depot, driving or when on site with our Customers.
To be fully accountable to ensure that the sites are legally compliant at all times this will include servicing & maintenance, driver's hours, tacho downloads both driver and vehicle unit along with all training - drivers CPC, MHE and manual handling.
Maintaining records in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Ensuring that all relevant documentation and systems are completed accurately and in line with company and/or legislative requirements.
Creating and maintaining a high performing culture within the Driver network.
Achieving operational KPI's and service expectations consistently during changing seasons and fluctuating demand including Service, Cost, Productivity, Transport, Health and Safety and People metrics.
Ensure that operational procedures and general housekeeping are kept to a high standard.
Defining the exact requirements of the operation, reviewing these regularly with relevant stakeholders to produce the optimum workable solution to achieve cost and service metrics.
Creating a core team of Drivers and Supervisory staff with sufficient skills and depth to scale up to meet increases in demand and to support the introduction of flexible resource as required.Profile
The successful Depot Transport Manager will have the following attributes:
National CPC License holder
PC literate in programmes such as Microsoft Office
Desirable Qualification: International CPC licence holder
Experience in legislative compliance
Experience in a Transport Operation
System knowledge of fleet systems, Isotrack, Tachomaster, etc.
To be Financially astute in order to drive cost saving efficiencies and initiatives
Be able to influence internal and external 3rd parties
Some Technical knowledge of HGV, LGV
Experience of managing teams of people
