We have been instructed to recruit an exceptional, European Logistics Manager, with European freight, logistics and transport knowledge.

The business has provided reliable and dedicated Logistics and Warehouse services across a wide range of industrial and commercial sectors. They are a true UK and global logistics business, specialists in almost every aspect of worldwide logistics. Their client base is varied, but in the main they service several, fast paced automotive tier one suppliers and manufacturers.

This is a new role, reporting to the Head of Operations for Europe you will be based at the head quarters in Worcestershire.

It is essential you have detailed knowledge and experience of European freight routes, a deep understanding of the complexities of moving goods across Europe and be aware of changes happening post Brexit to UK trade into Europe via road.

Key responsibilities as European Logistics Manager:

Responsible for the running of the European department, strategically plan and manage transportation and customer services
Resolve any arising problems and complaints and look at corrective actions
Leading and developing the department and the teams within
Setting and achieving departmental targets. Ensuring all operational requirements and standards are met or there is a plan in place where they are not
Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvement
Developing and implementing meaningful KPIs that enables transparency and drives improvement
Budget and financial compliance
Meet costs, accuracy, and timeliness targets
Supporting tender requirements
Team performance, SOPs and training - identifying gaps
Developing TMS to its potential
Further developing structure and processes within the department
Effective communication and reporting within the department and out to the business
Profit improvement and managing costs
Customer relationships and satisfaction
Continuation of current business and successful implementation of new
Being compliant with, ISO, AEO and European law
Developing accounts and customer reviews
Supporting supplier and network development
Leading and promoting a collaborative, team working ethic across the department into other parts of the business
Health and Safety for the department
As European Logistics Manager it is critical you can perform the following:            

Excellent all-round knowledge of transport and logistics
Ability to manage and develop people
KPI management
Account management and development
Highly organised with the ability to remain focussed under pressure
Ability to lead a team
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisation skills
Planning and good communication skills
Ability to think creatively and deal with unexpected changes
The European Logistics Manager will :
