Job description

Our client is a specialised vehicle rental company based in Willenhall, West Midlands. Due to year-on-year business growth and promotions they now need a Fleet Manager supporting all rentals and contracts. As a Fleet Manager

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our fleet’s rentals and logistics, ensuring that new or returning hire vehicles are processed efficiently and accurately. You will work in a fast-paced sales-focused environment and collaborate with various team members to ensure the continued growth of the business and our colleagues. You must be able to manage your own workload, work under pressure, and maintain high standards of service.

Essential background and experience needed for Fleet Manager role:

* Happy to commute to Willenhall Monday to Friday as this role is not hybrid

* Proven experience in vehicle service environment either vehicle rental or service workshops/auto centres

* Logistics of vehicles (experienced with tracking vehicles, new vehicles, maintenance of vehicles, what vehicles are free and ready for rental etc.)

* Experience with work delegation and leading a team of 5 members of staff

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Fleet Manager Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee all daily operations of the rental branch, vehicle logistics movement and planning, returns, damage capture and customer service

* Maintain accurate records of vehicle inventory, rental agreements and movements using in house software

* Deliver on agreed budgetary targets for spend and revenue whilst developing and implement strategies to increase rental sales and revenue

* Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and disputes in a professional and timely manner.

* Build and maintain relationships with corporate clients and local businesses.

* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

* Manage vehicle inventory and optimize fleet utilization.

* Collaborate with the wider team to improve processes and resolve communication challenges.

* Managing a team of Delivery Drivers foster a positive and productive work environment.

* Schedule staff and manage workload to ensure optimal efficiency.

Candidate Specification:

* Good communication skills and the ability to work on your own initiative

* Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload

* Strong telephone-based customer service skills.

* Excellent time management and organisational skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic IT systems.

* Sound financial comprehension and ability to manage costs
