Location: UK-Middlesex-20 Riverside Uxbridge
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000
Leadership of the fleet and logistics function, supporting day to day department activity, ensuring the team remain motivated, focussed and work efficiently to deliver all aspects of our fleet and logistics performance.
Acquisition and disposal of fleet in line with business needs. Includes both risk-fleet (purchase) and non-risk (contract hire)
Working with the team to ensure optimum utilisation of the operational fleet
Cost authorisation and control of all relevant work to our vehicles in line with budget
Control of end-of life fleet cost
Oversee high risk deliveries with an awareness of fraud risks
Ensure delivery and collection processes followed including accurate completion of VCRs
Overall management of our recovery truck fleet
Arranging the efficient delivery and collection of all hire vehicles, and salvage vehicles
To monitor the team's performance using MI, KPIs, QA and observation
Identify training and development areas both across the team and individually
Carry out team appraisals, including those of our satellite controllers
Set appropriate targets for the team to monitor and drive performance
Ensure all processes and systems remain fit for purpose
Own and drive the implementation of any process changes as required
Respond promptly to business needs
Negotiating with current and future suppliers to ensure best terms
Assist in team queries and escalations including customer dissatisfaction and complaints
Manage performance of our remote satellite locations
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with strong attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong IT skills and a good working knowledge of Excel and Outlook
Understanding of Visions services, philosophies, systems and organisation
An understanding of GTA vehicle hire rates and standards or similar
Ability to use their initiative, think outside the box and challenge current process
Can focus the team effectively during busy periods
Have the ability to make fast, informed decisions
Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and able to communicate at all levels
Strong motivational skills
Strong negotiation skills
A working knowledge of the motor trade / vehicle hire industry with experience in dealing with suppliers and customers, both internal and external.
Preferably with a good network of industry contacts, and up to date with industry issues.
A track record of team leadership, people management and performance development.
Commercially aware and able to identify efficiency and cost saving opportunities without compromising quality.
The ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced, open-plan working environment.
Confident and self-motivated with a calm and measured approach
Not afraid to get hands on when needed and support the team
