Role Overview

We strive to deliver an outstanding service to our customers and your role as a Depot Manager is key to this.

Fully accountable for managing the Depot Operations, whilst proactively seeking ways to improve cost, service & operational efficiency.

Ensure all resources including third party are managed, planned, and controlled to achieve the agreed service levels and cost budget.

Duties and Responsibilities

Managing all areas of the warehouse sortation in an efficient cost-effective manner to ensure hub/depot key KPI's are achieved e.g. pick compliance, sortation compliance, delivery service and customer delivery experience.

Assisting the Operations Director to manage and control the budget in order to achieve the SLA's including productivity, labour costs, overtime usage an agency usage.
Arranging the Depot recruitment as authorised by the Operations Director to the Company standards.
Maintaining Health and Safety Regulations by ensuring Safe Systems of work, risk assessments, accident investigations and reporting is completed and reviewed on a regular basis.
Ensuring the Company's policies and procedures are adhered to at all times including the management of absence, Labour Turnover etc.
Ensuring all employees are developed within the Company's guidelines and that all necessary appraisals, reviews are maintained up to date.
Managing the performance of direct reports; setting and monitoring key objectives.
Developing and maintaining effective communication channels with all appropriate areas of the business especially the Day/Night Shift Management, Customer Services, Transport, Compliance, and the Sales Team.
Ensuring that the Company security processes are maintained at all times & the control/ safekeeping of all Company assets are maintained.
Liaising effectively with suppliers where appropriate.

Skills and Experience

Have excellent people management and leadership skills.
Ability to communicate with all levels within the business
Energetic and can-do attitude
Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines.
A total commitment to Health & Safety
Understanding of IOSH/NEBOSH ISO9001 is highly beneficial.
PC Literate with a high standard of Microsoft office.
An understanding of Transport regulations.
Flexible approach to work to meet business requirements.
An ability to forward plan and anticipate radical changes in workload.
Able to manage via a suite of KPI's and SOP's
Self-starter, able to work under own initiative.
