The Role

We have a great opportunity for a conscientious Local Transport Manager to join our team at Jewson, based in Bury St Edmunds, 44.5 hours per week 7:00 - 17:00. To deliver the best customer delivery service at the lowest cost to serve possible, whilst operating within all transport related processes and policies and ensuring OTIF performance to meet our customer value proposition.

What are we looking for?

Transport Legislation and Transport planning, route scheduling and network improvement
Literate and numerate
Financial and commercial awareness
Resource (specifically driver) Management
Able to provide feedback on process improvement
Understanding of EHS standardsWhat would I be responsible for?
(but not limited to…)

Ownership of DMS across the Business Units, supporting and challenging where required.
Management of DX loading for hire drivers across the Business Unit
Development and implementation of local transport strategies across the Business Unit in line with national and regional strategies
Management of the servicing schedule and any additional vehicle requirements
Support the Business Unit Director with Transport KPI's and KPI improvement within the Business UnitWhat will you get in return?
