A brand new and exciting opportunity for Logistics Manager has opened up for you to join a Cambridge based organisation who develop complex, high value, low volume scientific instrumentation. The company is doing extremely well, and this technology and company is set to evolve rapidly.
The Logistics Manager will be reporting to the MD, managing the running of goods-in/stores/dispatch/packing/shipments and be capable of expanding their material flow capacity via third parties, in order to flexibly meet the demands of this growing manufacturing business. In addition, the Logistics Manager will be leading the logistics team, having 3 permanent staff and 1-3 temporary staff directly reporting into you.
As a key member of the business, you will be responsible for the company's stored inventory in the facility as well as off-site locations.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
Running the existing logistics/stores/material handling/shipping operations. Efficiency improvements via KPIs.
Setup and manage a third-party logistics partner
Meetings, administration and people management tasks.The following skills and experience will be required:
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree (or equivalent) in Logistics or Business Management or related field.
At least 5 years' experience of running a logistics/stores/warehouse operation with strong understanding of stock control principles.
Proven experience in setting up, integrating and running an outsourced logistics solution.
Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office, with familiarity in SAP for material movement.
Highly motivated, independent, results driven and be able to effectively lead and supervise a team.
Good communication skills and demonstrable experience working with stakeholders in management to deliver logistics solutions.
