Our client is a highly respected and successful International Fresh Produce company and they have asked the FMK Consulting team to help in their search for a candidate with a background in Logistics and Management within the Fresh Produce or FMCG Industry to join their team in Cambridgeshire.
Job Title: Logistics Manager
Representing in case of absence: Sales and Logistics Co-Ordinator, Administration Assistant, and Commercial Managers
The Logistics Manager will report in to the commercial team.
(Logistics covers shipping and sales admin support for commercial – both inbound consignment entry and outbound sales entry)
Main Duties include:
Managements of the Sales Logistics and Administration teams of our client
This includes the day-to-day staff management of all the Logistics and administration teams.
Providing support and management of workload
Conducting of the performance appraisal process.
Senior sales and logistics contact for Suppliers, and External Warehouses/Service Providers (in UK and Holland) and Customers.
Regular communication with service providers on services required within FGA contracts (cold-storage, transport, imports and exports).
Prepare Management information and provide / present to the FGA Team and Supplier base.
Investigation of Queries (internal and external)
Import and Export Champion (BV to UK and UK to BV)
Make recommendations and improve current processes and procedures.
Create workflows for processes to be followed by Sales Logistics and Administration team members.
Co-ordinate pre-season meetings for all teams to cover requirements and processes.
Quality System Management.
Assisting the Commercial Managers, Managing Director, Financial Controller, Senior Sales and Logistics Co-ordinators and also Administrations
Cover the Monday daily role for the Sales and Logistics Co-ordinator (Tuesday to Saturday).
The holder of this position shall if necessary fulfil other tasks – conferred to them by senior management – even if these tasks are not described in this document – as long
as they are trained to do.

* You would have a strong background in Logistics, ideally as a Logistics Manager in a Fresh Produce or FMCG business
* Fresh Produce Industry experience would be ideal
* FMCG Experience is essential
* Knowledge of the Prophet operating system would be highly advantageous
* You would be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Logistics and what would be expected of you in this role
* Strong IT Skills
* Excellent communication skills – Written & verbal
* Staff management
Working days : Monday - Friday
