Senior Logistics Manager
V3 are recruiting on behalf of a fast growing customer focused International e-commerce business, located in Portsmouth.
V3 are looking to recruit a Logistics Manager ideally from an e-commerce background to oversee and guide the Fulfilment side of the business. Our client has expanded the business to a number of European markets with a significant proportion of overall turnover being generated from their websites serving Germany and France.
Our client is dedicated to constant improvement, both in the service they provide to their customers and in the development of the abilities of their team.
This individual will have responsibility for:
a) Fulfilment Operations including the preparations of orders for dispatch by the Order Processing team
b) Management of the relationship and performance of our outsourced warehouse partners (3PL) ensuring that we are continually improving the speed of delivery to our customers. This business currently has 3 outsourced warehouses as well as our own small operation in Chichester servicing Spare Parts orders and returns
d) Negotiation of carrier contracts and service levels with our carrier partners including Parcelforce,DPD,DHL as well as Pallet networks and Two Man delivery services
We need someone with an ownership mindset, who will enhance our dynamic, entrepreneurial culture.
What Success Looks Like:
●Delivery and improvement against set Key Performance Indicators
●Delivery against cost targets
●Maintaining high standards for operational performance and influence 3PL partners to do the same
●Development and enhancement of the service offering to customers working with direct reports Customer Services Manager/Team Leader and Order Processing Manager/Team Leader
●Supporting growth and business changes required within the company and with 3PL suppliers
●Successful development of the performance of customer service and logistics analysts
●Generation and execution of ideas that push the business forward
Skills and experience you will need:
●5+ years' leadership experience, recruited and led a high performance team
●Excellent communication skills and an ability to interact with people across all levels of an organization
●Ability to develop the fulfilment strategy and manage the delivery by developing direct reports and influencing the wider business in operations
●Experience with ERP, CRM or similar systems as well as general office software
●Experience of process improvement and process training
●Driven decisions that materially and quantifiably drove the business forward through deep understanding & analysis of financial & operating metrics
●Sound decision-making during periods of high demand and pressure
●Flexible attitude - To succeed you should be capable of challenging the status quo, thrive on change and lead from the front
Skills and experience - advantageous:
●Experience of working with a Warehouse Management System
●High Numeracy and analytical skills
●Strong IT skills including implementation of CRM or equivalent
