We are looking for an ambitious and highly experienced senior professional to join a Used Car Dealer Group as an Operations and Logistics Manager. You will take responsibility for the management of the day to day operation of our supply chain: from purchase and payment, to transportation, preparation and distribution. You will take a proactive lead in setting, managing and continuously improving standards so ensuring the efficient delivery of fully prepared stock for sale.

You must be able to work in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment, leading a team to achieve results in a compliant and results orientated manner.

What you will be doing

* Creating and maintaining standardised processes for all gateways

* Developing, and ensuring consistent use of, comprehensive operational standards

* Developing, maintaining and improving quality metrics to manage stock levels, delivery times and costs, enabling trakcing from purchase to sale. This includes preparting, costings and distribution

* Analysing data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality to plan improvements

* Building and maintaining supplier relationships

* Planning and managing projects

* Working cross-functionally to drive quality principles into every aspect of our business

* Controlling budgets to target

* Ensuring safe working practices

* Supporting, driving and parcicipating in problem-solving activities

* Acting as a mentor, supporting the development of team leaders

* Operating within company policies and procedures, including GDPR

What we need from you

* Degree in Business, Economics, information systems, management, transport distribution or logistics would be highly advantageous

* A full, current and valid UK Driving Licence

* Commercial awareness

* Track record of delivering targets

* Experience of logistics processes and practices

* People Management skills

* Problem solving skills

* Previous experience in the automotive industry

* Passion for delivering excellent customer service alongside working in a target driven environment

* Enthusiasm; motivation; professionalism; assertiveness; flexibility; adaptability

* Competitive remuneration package circa £50,000 basic
