TRANSPORT MANAGER
County Foods, a successful, Catering Butchers based in Poole, require a Transport Manager to manage its transport fleet of both drivers and vehicles. As TRANSPORT MANAGER you will accept sole responsibility for the Company’s transport operations which includes managing MOT / servicing and repair schedules for all Company vehicles, without interruption of service.
Responsible for a Delivery team of approximately 10 drivers plus a Transport Supervisor you will ensure an efficient and exceptional delivery service is provided to all of our customers. You will achieve this through effective management and engagement of the Delivery Team and by continuously reviewing current processes and systems to ensure standards are maintained.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance and Operations, you will organise the loading of vehicles, plan; routes, drivers’ rosters, scheduled and emergency vehicle maintenance, whilst also directing, training and developing our delivery drivers to ensure maximum potential is achieved. You will be required to report and maintain records on our time management system, including the planning of cover for both holidays and absence all within the guidelines of; Food Hygiene, Health & Safety standards and Company procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a strong management background with proven Transport Supervisor / Line Management experience within the food industry. Good local geographical knowledge within a 50 mile radius of Poole is essential. You will be a confident computer user, with experience in the use of Microsoft programs and vehicle tracking software. In addition you will have administrative experience and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with all levels of personnel and customers.
This role requires an early morning start between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. (dependant on trade) and is anticipated to be a 48 hour week worked over 5 or 6 days to accommodate the requirements of the business. Salary is competitive and negotiable according to previous experience
