Transport Manager, we are currently recruiting for a flagship Moving and Relocation Services site in Silvertown, London, this business has gone from strength to strength and has opened new depots in 2021.
You MUST have a Transport Managers CPC (as you will be named on the O' License.
The main purpose, duties and responsibilities of the Transport Manager include but are not limited to;
To assist the Head of Fleet in the day to day running of the fleet operation (circa 40 vehicles plus hire)
Achieve world class safety and service standards through positive and proactive engagement with drivers
Track, monitor and improve performance via KPIs
Create an open environment through demonstrating behaviours in line with company values
Ensuring transport staff deliver the service appropriate to the changing needs of customers in line with relevant guidance and individual risk assessments
Be named on the Operator's License (License)
Investigate every incident promptly, reporting according to company policies
Create opportunities for staff internally
Work closely on a day-to-day basis with managers and other team members to ensure efficient communications between departments
Participate in weekly review meetings with move teams and management, take ownership for follow up actions as agreed
Continually review internal and external administration procedures for improved efficiencies
Ensuring all communication and policies are compliant to health and safety regulations and also compliance responsibilities for specific aspects of the companies work.
As a Transport Manager you will have the following skills and experience;
Experience in a Transport Manager role is essential
Experience in reviewing and maintaining fleet management policies is essential
Transport Managers CPC is essential
Experience of managing an operator's license
Experience in Managing a large fleet of HGVs is essential
Experience in hazardous goods is desired
Excellent organisation and communication skills
Knowledge of transport related HR processes
A strong team player but you will be someone who can work from your own initiative
