Kerry Collins Recruitment are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Manager, for our clients new outbase Operation site to be based within Bristol.
The successful applicant will be accountable for the correct and full receipt/despatch of customer orders, ensuring that all operational processes are both promoted and followed for the site, reporting to the Outbase Manager.
Key accountabilities will include;
To lead, coach, mentor and develop the Outbase Team
Helping continuously improve the operation and customer service focused delivery operation
To take full responsibility for the issuing and communication of daily deliveries, including briefings based on previous day’s results and expectations for current day’s workload using KPI's
Liaising with, and management of, personnel for the unloading and marshalling of customer orders received through trunking network
Confirmation of arrival, unloading, loading and departure times by trunker/final mile vehicle/customer order
Review vehicle check sheets and action defects appropriately
Maintain continuous and effective communication via business platform tools, email, telephone etc.
Ensure that the Outbase’s Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
Support the management, measuring and reviewing of vehicle utilisation metrics
Arrange vehicle spot hire for Vehicle Off Road (VOR) situations
Arrange temporary agency staff spot hire for unplanned absences
Conduct first line absence and disciplinary meetings as and when required
Manage holiday bookings and cover to agreed staffing levels
Key skills and attributes;
HGV 2 Licence required
Highly motivated and customer service focused
Self-reliant and decisive
Strong man management skills
A minimum of 2 years' experience within a fast paced, dynamic transhipment/cross doc operation
Hours of work:
Sunday - Thursday 23:00 to 07:00
