We have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Manager to join our Recycling team in Ford, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

As our Transport Manager, you will ensure a compliant and cost-effective management of bulk haulage activities within the West Sussex contract, and to ensure that they are carried out in a safe, professional, economical ad timely manner in accordance with current legislation, and company policies and procedures.

You will also aim to maximise haulage rates, productivity and efficiency, ensuring that all targets and objectives are met or exceeded. A key part of this job role is to liase and communicate effectively with all other internal departments within Viridor as well as external agencies such as DVLA, HSE, planners and contractors as required.

Our ideal Transport Manager will have:

Knowledge of fleet operating systems, road transport and relevant environmental legislation.
Knowledge of complex reports and KPI's and how they are used within a Logistics business.
Ability to route vehicles
Proven track record in the identification of talent and delivery of succession plans.
An excellent working knowledge of the waste and recycling market within the specified geographical area.
Previous experience managing large teams and controlling fleet activities.
Proven track record of managing a Logistic operation successfully for a minimum of 2 years.
Experience of preparing budgets, forecasts and month end reports.
Full CPC National for road transport.
IOSH managing safely or equivalent.
Full driving licence.
