Transport Manager – Multi-drop industrial products

£47k - £50K + Bens + Prospects
Our client is a multi-site specialist distributor of industrial liquid / bulk powder related products that are used in a variety of applications. They are looking for a commercially focussed CPC qualified Transport Manager who has held an O License to run a small fleet of multi-drop vehicles for delivery & collections across the region.
Role summary:
Organise and control the supervision of all transport activities within the depot in order to hit all depot & customer expectation targets / OTIF
Ensure ongoing compliance of the vehicle fleet & driver performance
Manage the companies legal requirements of monitoring taco graphs
Regularly report on results, production of suite of reports and feedback to drivers and management.
Incident and accident reporting and the timely completion of investigation reports.
Monitor, evaluate and implement a delivery structure to improve customer lead times.
Ensure the depot acts as a hub function for evening/weekend deliveries
Ensure that the depot operates within the stated company quality assurance procedures.
To effectively route deliveries so as to fully utilise the depot fleet.
Contribute to the reduction in waste and third party haulage
Ensure drivers maintain regular vehicle checks & book and monitor regular vehicle inspections.
Use tracker system to maximise fleet efficiency.
Route fleet to maximise Transend paperless delivery system.
Organise third-party haulage (recording into associated database).
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experienced across transport including budgets, driver management/compliance, customer service, KPI’s, fleet compliance & route planning.
KPI driven & therefore strong data & performance analytical skills
CPC qualified
O License holder experience
Experience of fast moving operations.
Highly numerate and literate.
Familiar with desk-top applications, and other IT interfaces including ERP, paperless deliveries, vehicle tracking.
