Logistics Manager– Elland – Up to £35,000 + Benefits

An exciting new role that is offering genuine career opportunites. In your new role you will be a key member of the management team responsible for ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time, to the quality required and in the most cost-effective way.
You will oversee the distribution and transportation of goods from the manufacturer to the customer and will have people and budgetary management responsibility reporting to the Directors.

Logistics Manager Responsibilities:

Contribute to, create, implement, analyse, and repot on best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance
Plan, manage and evaluate logistic processes and deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs and negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers
Select carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteria, resolving day to day issues as well as longer term problems related to supply chain, transportation, packaging, couriers, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues
Co-ordinate the end to end supply of goods into and out of the warehouse to meet seasonal demand
Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities, identifying savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps
Oversee the development, implementation, and staff training of Company IT systems to maximise automation, accuracy, and efficiency
Drive forward sales order processing and problem solve to ensure that all orders are dispatched complete and on time
Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors Financial Budget and Control
Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities to ensure processes are as environmentally friendly as possibleHours:

Full-time, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development
Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
Relevant business/supply chain/commercial degree is preferred, HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
Prior experience of working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function within a fast paced online mail order environment with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and procedures
Expert knowledge of technical regulations related to logistics such as import/export and customs regulations
Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems such as Orderwise Stock Management System, (BOM) and customer data systemsIn Return You’ll Receive:
