FCC Environment have a vacancy for a Transport Manager to take responsibility for the operation, management and overall performance of the Suffolk Transport Fleet to meet the contractual compliance of the Suffolk Recycling Centre contract.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the role will be to ensure that all contractual obligations relating to the transportation of wastes are fulfilled, including associated site improvements and the development of new initiatives, including reuse.

This is a full time position on a 7/362 operation which may involve working weekends on a rota basis.  A full UK driving licence is essential.

Transport Manager responsibilities will include:

Ensuring that the Transport function is operated in an efficient and safe manner
Ensuring contractual obligations are met in relation to transportation of waste
Best practice with regards to policies and procedures, the development of industrial relations and legislative compliance
Managing repair and maintenance of vehicles and plant
Recruitment, management and development of staff
P & L responsibility, ensuring operation within budgetsEssential skills and experience

HGV and ADR qualifications
CPC qualification
Driver CPC
EU and RTD legislation driver’s hours rest and work time
Evidence of the ability to identify and implement change programmes
Demonstrable skills in achieving demanding work requirements and ensuring customer needs are met
Numerate and IT literate with the ability to use management information effectivelyAbout Us
