We are currently working with a high profile client based in the South Yorkshire area.

They are looking recruit a recruit an experienced Transport Manager to work within their business.
Due to consistent business expansion they are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to join an already successful team. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the transport operations for the distribution depot in order to achieve maximum levels in customer service and satisfaction in a growing, but leading food manufacturing business.

This role is integral to our clients continued success and progress, the appointment of the right character, skills and experience is crucial for continued business success.
The Transport Manager will possess a CPC Qualification and have strong Transport Management experience, understanding the responsibilities with 'day 1 & 2 order capture and 'just in time service.

Key Responsibilities:
Have direct supervision of drivers during daily de-briefings.
Identify and focus on improvement opportunities
Provide information to both internal and external customers regarding service levels.
Ensure all traffic planning activity is in line with legislative requirements.
Recruit, train, develop and retain a strong department of drivers and transport staff.
Direct Management of a large fleet of vehicles
Achieve KPIs as set by the business.
Report weekly activity to the Operations Director.
Maintain effective communication with key internal departments.

The Candidate:
Must possess CPC qualification.
Must have experience working within transport/logistics for FMCG/Food manufacturing businesses.
A good geographical knowledge of the UK.
Experience of managing a transport office, transport supervisors and drives
Budget management experience- able to report to board level
Understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
