What Is The Role?
Joining us as a Transport Manager, you will monitor fleet compliance such as vehicle defects/accidents, driver working hours and servicing/maintenance.
In this interesting and challenging role you will also be responsible for:
Working closely alongside the site management team to ensure operational efficiency and the achievement of KPIs
Liaising with external suppliers to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles, subcontractors and additional resource
Controlling drivers on the road activities ensuring collections being passed over, drivers calling in, vehicle breakdowns being notified and any necessary action taken
Ensuring that any guaranteed services traffic in particular Timed Deliveries are delivered and liaising with the Depot/Operations Manager, where any difficulties arise in this area
Controlling and undertaking driver debriefing
To ensure fuel dispensing systems are operational and accurate records are kept of any fuel drawn off during the day operation
Assisting the Depot Management in carrying out induction (to include relevant Operational and Health and Safety procedures), training and improving the standard of Supervisors and staff within the depot
Who Are We Looking For?
You will demonstrate good people management skills as well as a track record of success in a similar position within a fast paced environment. You will also be able to demonstrate:
Demonstrable background of success in meeting and exceeding targets and delivering an outstanding client experience
Must have Transport Manager CPC
Practical knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations
People management and leadership experience
Comfortable, willing and able to lead by example and also adopt a practical hands-on approach when required
Previous experience within the Parcel Freight industry
