Transport Manager- Newcastle-under-Lyme
Salary up to 40k
Working days Monday to Friday an experienced Transport Manager required for a fast paced environment to over see the day to day running
Job role:
* Overseeing transport needs across all Departments
* Keeping abreast of developments and changes in law regarding Transport.
* Managing and developing the Transport team, identifying any training requirements.
* Managing existing transport providers whilst actively sourcing new suppliers.
* Negotiating with transport supply chain to ensure value for money and guarantee UK coverage.
* Providing close management of all costs and KPIs of the Transport Department.
* Checking that all loads are examined to ensure goods are packaged correctly to be despatched safely to the customer right first time.
* Being proactive in identifying and proposing commercial and logistic improvements throughout the business.
The ideal candidate will need to be a strong communicator, having a management background whilst being able to demonstrate hands on experience of organising transport.
Good geographical awareness essential with a high knowledge of haulage and courier companies. Confident working in a busy environment ensuring deliveries are made on time and in the most cost effective way
