Suffolk Norse is a joint venture company between Suffolk County Council and Norse Group. With depots in Ipswich, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds we provide home to school transport to both mainstream and special education schools as well as a wide range of private hire work including UK and EU excursions.

The Role

We have an opportunity for a Transport Manager to join the team in Ipswich. This challenging and exciting role will involve managing a large vehicle fleet and operational personnel. You will have experience in managing passenger services for a commercial organisation, and hold a CPC, along with having a detailed understanding of the associated legal and regulatory compliance issues.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure a reliable, efficient and compliant passenger service is achieved and maintained at all times. Managing resources within your budget implementing actions as required ensuring responsive effective management of all labour expenditure. As a confident communicator, you will be able to develop and maintain professional relationships to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.

Our successful candidate will have

Significant experience of managing passenger service teams.
Knowledge of Transport Management Software Applications.
Strong management skills including budget preparation, performance management and effective financial control.
Excellent communicator with high levels of customer, client service.
International CPC.
Full Driving Licence to include D entitlement with a maximum of six penalty points.
