Birmingham 2022 is looking for dedicated and confident Venue Logistics Managers who will assist the Cluster Venue Logistics Manager to develop and implement Logistics operational plans, policies, and procedures for allocated venue/s within time critical deadlines. The Logistics Functional Area is responsible for identifying, scoping, storing, delivering, recovering, and disposing of the materials required to stage the Games.

Logistics is recruiting for positions in both competition venues and venue logistics operational projects. This includes arrivals and departures of athlete baggage and sports equipment and the roaming team who will support across multiple venues.

As part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games legacy, we will provide the following training in:
* Institution of Occupational Safety & Health
* First Aid
* Fire Training
* Forklift Licence
* Manual Handling

Responsibilities
· Assist the Cluster Venue Logistics Manager to develop and implement Logistics operational plans, policies and procedures for allocated venue/s within time critical deadlines
· As the main Logistics contact for a venue, provide logistics advice and support to stakeholders including venue team, Functional Areas, staff, suppliers and contractors
· Manage asset tracking distribution in venue, setup/breakdown of spaces and return materials post event
· Manage on venue resources, storage, fuel, vehicles and deliveries
· Responsible for the recruitment and management of Deputy Venue Logistics Managers
· Lead, motivate and train a team of logistics staff and contractors
· Attend venue management briefings as a LOG representative ensuring smooth and seamless back-of-house operations at assigned venue
· Meet milestones and be responsible for detailed operational planning, scheduling and training

Skills & Experience Required
Essential
* Experience in a leadership role in events, operations or logistics management
* Experience of building effective relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
* Experience in managing on the day logistics/event operations and the management of a setup/breakdown and delivery schedule
* Proficient skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn and operate online systems
* Knowledge of event logistics and management
* Hold a valid full UK manual driving licence

Start date: ASAP
Contract: Fixed-term contract until August 2022
Salary: Competitive

Please note, due to the nature of this huge event, shift work including weekend working will be required at Games time. Furthermore, there will be limitations on taking annual leave during the Games operational period in July and August. More specific details can be discussed at interview.
