BT tyre deal

BRITISH Telecom has signed a solus three-year contract with the Continental Tyre Group to provide up to 200,000 car, van and truck tyres for its 52,000-strong fleet.

Continental will supply more than 1,000 new tyres a week to BT's fleet, which is one of Europe's largest and also includes industrial equipment. A critical aspect of Continental winning the contract was its ability to provide a comprehensive environmental policy in the disposal of used tyres which sees the casing remoulded and unwanted tyres disposed of.
