THE Peugeot 406 has debuted on the UK used car market with 20 N-registered models with 12,000 miles on the clock fetching an average 81.7% of new prices. The cars came under the hammer at a series of special closed auctions held for Peugeot dealers by ADT Auctions at its Measham and Blackbushe centres.

ADT described the performance of the 406 as a 'solid debut' in the competitive upper medium sector with the two sales attracting more than 100 dealers. However, other models from the Peugeot range were also featured in the two sales, including 1996 registered management cars and contract hire and rental stock ranging from 1992 to 1996 registered.

Prices fetched include a 93L 205 1.8 Junior diesel three door with 40,000 miles on the clock fetching £4,200 or 107% of CAP 'clean', a 93L 306 1.9 XRD turbo five door, 51,000 miles realised £6,650 (108% of CAP), a 93L 106 1.1 Graduate three door, 14,000 miles sold for £4,600 (112% of CAP) and a 93K 405 1.9 GRD turbo estate at 45,000 miles made £7,250 (117% of CAP).
