A GARAGE boss is going into battle for both fleets and private motorists with a grievance against... garages. Sue Brownson, head of two BMW dealerships near Manchester, is launching a hotline to guarantee motorists get fair play when they want to complain.

The first woman president of the Retail Motor Industry Federation, Brownson is rebranding the organisation's national conciliation service as the RMI Consumer Care Line. To open in January with a freephone hotline number at RMI headquarters in London, the service will provide instant answers to drivers asking for advice on topics ranging from servicing and repairs to buying new and used cars.
