A NEW maintenance and repair network giving fleet managers flexibility, cost control and access to several unique features is being launched by Fleet Cost Management in January. The network, which offers a choice of 1,000 franchise, 400 independent and 100 mobile servicing agents, is the latest addition to the company's Select initiative which covers all non-fuel purchases made through the FCM card.

The company, which has more than 100,000 cars under fleet management, has revealed its new network just a week after announcing the findings of a survey which showed only 2% of fleet managers were able to put an accurate price on vehicle parts and 80% of fleet operators admitted they did not know the price of parts (Fleet News December 6).

FCM managing director Jeremy Snowden said: 'We have spent a lot of time putting Select initiatives into place this year. By building partnerships with preferred suppliers, we have been able to provide fleets with the industry's best prices in areas such as car hire, windscreens and tyres. The new maintenance and repair network extends the Select strategy.'
