Scenic launch delayed after huge demand

RENAULT has postponed the February 14 UK launch of the Megane Scenic - recently voted European Car of the Year 1997 - until June 1 due to huge demand for lefthand drive versions of the model.

The car has been progressively launched in European countries since going on sale in France in October. This week Renault UK said the Scenic had accounted for 35% of Megane orders in France in October and 6,000 orders were taken in the car's first month on sale in Italy - six times the monthly target.
