VAUXHALL is hoping to woo company car user-choosers into the Vectra after more than 18,000 people drove the car during a series of 10 driving days in April.

Vauxhall staged the events called VectraDrive '96 at the Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Oulton Park race circuits and the events attracted a mixture of major fleets, user-choosers and retail buyers with 60% being company car drivers. The staging of the events coincided with the Vectra, which has been on sale for six months, becoming the biggest selling upper medium car in the UK in March and April - although the Ford Mondeo outsold it in the fleet sector.

Visitors to Vectra Drive '96 had the opportunity to drive the Vectra on the race circuits, receive tuition from professional drivers and then sit in the passenger seat as the professionals put the Vectra through its paces.
