MOTABILITY Finance Limited - the privately owned funding arm of the disabled mobility charity - has again come under fire. The workings of Britain's largest fleet buyer and the secretive funding organisation behind it were the subject of an in-depth report by Channel 4's Dispatches programme.

Motability, which runs a fleet of more than 225,000 vehicles, underwent a National Audit Office investigation last year (Fleet News May 19, 1995), but the public finance watchdog has still to publish the report of its findings - which was originally due out late last year.

Nottingham MP Alan Simpson, who has been campaigning for closer scrutiny of Motability, last week called for the Public Accounts Committee to mount a full investigation in a Commons adjournment debate.
