FOUR SsangYong Mussos - Korean built 4x4s - have gone into service with Derbyshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, which operates 150 vehicles. The vehicles will be used for emergency duties in remote areas including the Peak District.

The vehicles can be operated by one person but were also chosen because of their ability to carry a stretcher and defibrillator plus paramedic drugs. Typical jobs will include road accidents but also heart attacks involving fell walkers. Accidents with motor cycle scramblers are also on the increase.
