CU launches new fleet insurance initiative

COMMERCIAL Union has launched a fleet insurance initiative offering rebates of up to 20% to operators adopting recommended risk management measures.

CU's risk management reward package claims to be an insurance first with a comprehensive range of risk reduction measures under one umbrella scheme. Premium rebates will reward fleet operators who implement risk management measures such as driver training or special vehicle security schemes. To qualify, fleet operators must implement the following management practices:

Clients will receive the rebates once they have implementated the following measures:

CU offer a free fleet consultancy service, helping identify risks and recommending courses of action. CU Profile, a management reporting service, will profile a fleet's claims history and identify patterns and trends the fleet manager can act upon and further reduce premiums.

Underwriter Rob Slade said:'We will give rebates in advance of these improvements coming through as long as the client can prove they have instigated these measures. 'We expect their claims experience must improve and this is an up-front recognition of that fact.'
