Vauxhall upgrades internet traffic info site

VAUXHALL has upgraded its on-line traffic information internet site with a more comprehensive and user-friendly version of Trafficmaster. The service has been one of the most popular features of Vauxhall's website, which contains details of its entire car range, a tax calculator and a nationwide dealer locator.

Trafficmaster's new Traffic-Net system incorporates new technology which enables congestion to be displayed 'live' on a map of the UK motorway network. Users can then zoom in on a particular area to receive more detailed information on hold-ups and traffic flows. The information is gathered by Trafficmaster's network of sensors on motorways throughout the UK and processed centrally before being relayed to Vauxhall's IBM-managed internet site.

The move follows Vauxhall's order for 100,000 Trafficmaster Oracle in-car traffic information systems to be fitted to selected Vectra models. Vauxhall's website can be accessed via our Links page (see button left).
