FORD'S offer of hands-free mobile phone kits has been so successful that it is being extended for another month. But the company's dealers will charge for the fitting of the £135 kits supplied during October.

Cellular Operations marketing manager Kevin Mariner admitted that a misunderstanding over the conditions of the original offer had led to a number of complaints. 'The terms of the offer were that the kit and the installation were free to people who owned or operated Fords but were not our customers. It did not apply to those who already had a Cellular Operations connection,' he said.
